Industry knowledge :What are the main characteristics and causes of common forging defects?
The main features: improper processing of die forging will cause surface roughness and scale scar. When forging austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, it is easy to produce such rough scale scar. Reasons as follows,Uneven lubrication or improper selection of lubricating oil types and poor quality of lubricating oil can cause local mucous membranes.

Cylinder forging process precautions
Cylinder forgings are made by melting, recrystallization, forging and heat treatment of steel ingot. The final quality of the cylinder forgings is determined by factors such as ingot structure, hot deformation, forging heat, forging process parameters, forging equipment and forging operation process.
Method for liquid penetrant inspection of large forgings
Liquid penetrant testing is a method for detecting open defects on the surface of large forgings. The process of this method can be summarized as: evenly coat the surface of the inspected workpiece with a material called penetrant, make it penetrate into the defect, remove the excess penetrant after an appropriate time, dry the workpiece, and then use the developer to suck out the penetrant that penetrated into the defect, and then determine whether there are traces on the surface of the inspected workpiece through appropriate observation.
Large ring forgings: What requirements should be met by the steel used in forgings
Basic open-hearth method: The open-hearth furnace with basic refractory materials such as magnesium brick, aluminum-magnesium brick, magnesium oxide and limestone is called basic open-hearth furnace. In an air oxidized environment, it requires alkaline coal ash to make iron.
Why forging technology is irreplaceable at present
Cars and some drive shafts must be forged, especially crankshaft parts. Forging is a processing method for impact forming of block steel and bars. Forging in which the forging blank is heated to a recrystallization temperature or higher is called hot forging. Hot forging makes the forging blank close to the shape of the product, and improves the mechanical properties of the forging.
How does the forging plant cool the forgings?
The key to forging cooling specification is to select the appropriate cooling rate. Generally, according to the chemical composition of the blank, structural characteristics, original state, cross-sectional size and other factors, refer to the relevant data to determine the appropriate cooling rate.
